California town installing solar powered kiosks for electric bike docks
The city of Santa Clara, California will install three solar powered kiosks for electric bicycle docks, according to a noozhawk.com report.
The city planning commission approved a development permit for the kiosks, which allow users to pay to rent a bike using a credit card.
Rob Dayton, the city's parking, transportation and planning manager, said most users will pay using a phone or a prepaid membership plan. The kiosks will allow people without phones or memberships to rent bikes.
