The first dedicated shop for electric bikes and scooters has opened in Cardiff
On Monday November 9th Pure Electric, a leading British micro-transport retailer, will open its first e-bike and scooter retail store in Cardiff. That brings the company's chain of street stores quantity to 14. The Cardiff store will sell the main brand of electric bikes and scooters and will have a Shimano Service centre workshop where customers can service their bikes, electric bikes and Bromptons.
"Our shipping habits are undergoing a revolution, and the potential for growth over the next few years is huge," says Tom McPhail of Pure Electric.
"The government has supported this change through bold plans for infrastructure and changes to the Highway Code, but more needs to be done. Electric scooters now need to be legalised; The country has been waiting impatiently for 12 months to conclude the trial. We would also like to see more done among the over-65s to promote cycling and active travel."
"The e-bike store provides essential services during the lockdown period, so we will continue to open stores, but we will be careful to keep our distance from the community and keep travel to the minimum necessary to open the store."
