In the next two to three years, electric bicycles will carry the major production and sales of electric two-wheelers, especially the proportion of production and sales will increase significantly next year.
In terms of monthly output, in June 2019, the electric vehicle industry was still under great influence after the implementation of national standards, but then in July/August, the number of electric vehicles exceeded 3 million continuously. This was closely related to the strong pull of head brands such as Yadi and Emma on the market in the peak season, which released the rigid demand after the implementation of new national standards in the second quarter.
In contrast, the second quarter of 2020 saw a relatively concentrated release of the first quarter's initial demand, but still saw an outbreak in 6/7/8, especially in August when the market was close to breaking through 4 million units.In addition to the bonus in the peak season, the President believes that this has a lot to do with the policy changes in the major electric vehicle consumer markets in Guangdong, Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shandong, which is a bit like the national "new national standard for replacement and purchase" pre-dinner, which may produce truly eye-popping figures in the next year or two.
But for a significant number of electric car brands, it is not easy to get an objective share in this unprecedented wave of exchange, and the head brands will eat up most of the exchange bonus.
The data shows that by the end of August 2020, the operating income of electric bicycles has reached 58.09 billion yuan, with a year-on-year growth of 23.4%, and the total profit has reached 2.68 billion yuan, with a year-on-year growth of 42.9%. All the data in the same period are the highest in nearly three years.
It is worth mentioning that, against the backdrop of the industry's fierce criticism of the price war, the e-bike industry achieved a new profit margin of 4.61% in the three years to August, compared with 4.41% in 2018 and 4.03% in 2019.It can be seen that the price war in 2019 is the most vicious year.

On the whole, the electric bicycle industry will be under the influence of the new national standards for a relatively long period of time, and the electric bicycle will benefit from the continuous outbreak of the policy, but this does not mean that the electric (light) motorcycle category will be gradually marginalized by the market.
