Uber has previewed the second generation of its electric jump scooters, which it rents in cities around the world, in orange and with the word "jump" printed on it in white.The new scooters are bigger and have a more durable frame.It also has bigger wheels for more stable driving and better brakes.Uber said the new scooters would go on sale in us cities on June 24 and would be available in Europe later this year.

The scooter was previewed at Uber's third annual promotion conference to showcase technologies and concepts developed for the company's planned air taxi service.Uber also showed off a new alternating-battery system for electric bikes on its jump sharing network.Uber says this is part of the next generation of Shared bikes to be rolled out later this year.One of the biggest changes to the new scooter is the braking system.The thumb-stick brakes on the first generation pedals have been replaced by the more commonly used hand brakes on bicycles.When squeezed, the handbrake stops both wheels, making it easier to slow down.
