Bird provides free scooter service for teachers
Edmonton - Bird Canada has launched a new program to help teachers get back in the classroom within COVID-19: Free rides on electric scooters.
The company is offering free 30-minute rides to teachers twice a day in September.
"We want to do our part by providing free personal mobility for all teachers so they can focus on what matters most: their passion for education," Rebecca Hahn, the chief corporate social responsibility officer, said in a written statement.
The company says electric scooters offer social distance and a traffic-free way to get around.It takes on the challenge of returning to school during the pandemic.
"The Bird team wants to say thank you and offer to help," the website says.
Teachers must email their teacher ID or credentials to the Bird Society of Canada for registration.
