The Tallahassee trial could be extended, and the commissioners will make the program permanent
The Tallahassee city government is expected to extend its pilot electric scooter program at a meeting Wednesday.
Julie Christensen works with the Tallahassee and Leon County Planning Department. Currently, three suppliers are renting scooters as part of a pilot programme.
"Therefore, this extension is to ensure that there is no interruption of service between the original end date of the pilot program and when we purchase permanent suppliers," Said Chistenson.
The city's three current suppliers of electric scooters are Spin, VeoRide and Wheels. If the pilot is expanded, the suppliers will continue to operate until the city makes a final decision.
