Razor, the founder of electric scooter, has launched a number of affordable electric scooters for adults
Razor, the company that helped spark the skateboard craze nearly two decades ago, has just launched a new line of affordable electric scooters for adults. The California-based company launched three new models: the EcoSmart SUP, the E300 HD and the C25.With the recent release of E Prime III, Razor hopes to expand its share of the adult scooter market while remaining a trusted and recognized brand in an over-saturated market.
Currently, the company's fastest scooter, the E-Prime Metro, has a top speed of 18 miles per hour, which is comparable to low-speed products like Bird, Lime and other scooter-sharing services. The company is launching three new models today, each with a top speed of just 15.5 miles per hour and a maximum capacity of 220 pounds. This is because Razor does not want to compete with speed, but it means that the product price comparison is aimed at the common people.
For many people, 15.5 MPH is good enough, especially when scooters are used for fun or for first/last mile traffic. So far, Razor's idea for electric scooters seems to be effective, but it is mainly aimed at the youth market. If you search for 'electric scooters' on Amazon, the company's EcoSmart, E90 and E200 models have sold well, and Razor now wants to take the strategy further to the adult market.
Among other things, the EcoSmart SUP has 16-inch pneumatic front and rear tube tires and a wide bamboo deck to improve stability. It has a 350W motor, a top speed of 15.5mph and a range of 12 miles per battery charge.Razor offers a similar model for its spotless scooter-sharing service Razor Share. The EcoSmart SUP, which weighs 63 pounds and has a manufacturer's suggested retail price of $449, went on sale in July.
The C25 is highly durable and foldable, making it a great option for those who want to bring their scooter to public transport. It can travel up to 11.25 miles per battery charge and has a top speed of 15.5 MPH.The C25 has a 12-inch solid front wheel for stability, front and rear lights for night driving, an electric dashboard and a 250W rear brushless hub motor, a 36V lithium-ion battery, and weighs 30 pounds.A lead-acid battery version will be released next year. The electric scooter will go on sale in October for $399.The G2 version weighs 30 pounds, while the G3 weighs 40 pounds.
The E Prime III, which debuted earlier this year, appears to be the most likely contender to compete with the hit Ninebot model. With a 250W brushless hub-drive motor, LED headlights and brake-activated taillights, and a dual braking system, E Prime III seems tailor-made for urban scooter enthusiasts who are tired of paying for scooter rental services. It will have a top speed of 18 miles per hour and a suggested retail price of $399.And it's relatively light, at 24.2 pounds.
Razor also updated its most economical and best-selling electric scooter, the E300, with a hub-driven motor.Razor said the E300 HD is "the best choice for casual scooters users who like to take their scooters for a quick spin around their neighborhood or play in the park."It features a 250W brushless rear wheel hub motor with high torque, 9-inch pneumatic front wheels and 8-inch solid rear wheels, torsional handle acceleration, and manually operated rear drum brakes. The E300 HD weighs 40 pounds, has a top speed of 15 MPH and a suggested retail price of $289 when it goes on sale this fall.
