Hungarian experts believe that electric scooters should apply for a driver’s license
Hungarian legal expert Satmari Marigita Gailgai told the Hungarian media that users of electric scooters should apply for a license and purchase insurance. He said that electric scooters are not considered to be vehicles in Hungary, so their users are considered pedestrians, and some electric skateboards can even reach speeds of up to 75 kilometers per hour.
There are different regulations for electric scooters in various countries. In Germany, the speed limit cannot exceed 20 km and Spain is 25 km. There are also countries that stipulate the age of the driver and must wear a helmet.
He emphasized that Hungary will establish its own regulations in accordance with the practices of other countries. Experts even believe that this requires the EU to carry out uniform regulations.
