A sense of the future! Weilai jointly launched the AI electric scooter NIO Pal to automatically take you to your destination according to your habits.
Layer, the UK's leading design firm, has teamed up with Chinese auto company Nio to design an electric scooter that uses artificial intelligence and machine learning technology to automatically take you on your favorite route.
The smart scooter, called NIO Pal, is a “future future concept” designed to alleviate the growing problem of urban traffic by providing flexible and convenient last mile travel.
Pal is known as the “mobile platform” and the Pal scooter uses the Nio Smart AI system called Nomi to get used to the driver's route over time and eventually automatically bring them to their destination.
The modular battery powers the scooter and can be recharged in any Vicky charging pole or user's home. Pal can be connected to the AI Nomi system via an application. As time goes by, the Pal scooter is used to your route.
Through wireless Bluetooth headset control, Pal can connect to the AI Nomi system via a user's smart watch or an app on the phone. From here, it is able to respond to simple voice commands and problems from the user, such as asking the system to perform a series of functions above, what is the best route, or how much battery is left in the vehicle.
The scooter also has a pressure-sensitive suspension for "tilt steering" that allows the driver to tilt forward to increase speed, retract to reduce speed, and turn left or right to turn. Each wheel is powered by a single motor embedded in the hub to allow independent "wheel speed" steering, which changes the wheel speed to rotate the vehicle.
The vehicle is designed to express the values and sensibility of lifestyle, rather than creating a harmony between people thinking about the future and the way they travel in a language that is clearly technology-driven.
